International Artist’s Book Exhibitions

In 17th of August 1993 we opened the First International Artist‘s Book Exhibition at the Contemporary Art Centre in Vilnius, Lithuania.

During these exciting 30 years, the Circle “Bokartas” organised more than 50 international artist’s book exhibitions, workshops, symposiums and lectures in Vilnius, Nida, Plunge (Lithuania), Frankfurt am Main, Leipzig, Hamburg, Bentlage (Germany), Salzburg, Horn (Austria), Helsinki (Finland), Seoul (South Korea), Tokyo (Japan), Venice, Roma, Urbino, Vercelli (Italy), Halmstad (Sweden), Joure, Easterlittens (The Netherlands), Silkeborg (Denmark), Lille (France), Evanston, Fredonia (US). Many international world-famous artists have been invited in Vilnius to read the lectures and to make the artist’s book and artist’s book-object workshops in Vilnius Academy of Arts.
